Audition D'Academy 8 Surabaya Flooded with Participants, Fildan Makes a Splash

Kapanlagi.com - The offline audition for D'Academy 8 (DA 8) in Surabaya was flooded with participants on Saturday (9/5/2026). Young dangdut talents from various cities in Indonesia filled the courtyard of the Giri Loka Building - UPN Veteran Surabaya since morning.

Prospective participants waited for their turn to register since morning. Hundreds of participants formed a queue before one by one appearing in front of the judges. This largest dangdut talent search event in Indonesia featured the Champion 1 of D'Academy 4, Fildan, acting as the main judge, along with Mila DA 7 as a guest star.

"I arrived in Surabaya since May 7th," emphasized Salman Alfansa, a participant from Central Kalimantan at the audition site on Saturday (9/5).

Salman, who is wearing traditional attire from the region, claims to be a 6th-semester student at the State Islamic University (UIN) of Palangka Raya. With experience as a singer and MC at various events, he wants to test his singing talent at D'Academy 8.

"There are auditions in Balikpapan and Makassar as well, but I chose to come to Java for a broader contest," he asserted.

Meanwhile, Nurrachmawati or Nora claims to have participated in 6 D'Academy 8 auditions. However, she remains enthusiastic about showcasing her abilities in front of the Jury. Nora identifies as a cafe singer in Malang and has improved her vocal technique to participate in the auditions again.

"Learning again and again. Lots of practice before coming here," asserted the woman from Bantur, Malang Regency.

3. Nada, a Participant from Lombok

Unlike Nada Alqaida from Lombok, who claimed she had to take a ship overnight to reach Surabaya for the audition. Nada revealed her daily life as a street singer in her village. She is often invited to perform at events and other occasions.

"I came here from the result of saving up from singing, usually invited to wedding events," she explained.

Meanwhile, the presence of Fildan and Mila surprised everyone by greeting the participants of Surabaya Wani. They also performed a duet, inviting participants to sing the song Pecah Seribu while walking around the line of participants waiting.

Occasionally, Fildan and Mila tested the vocals of the participants by inviting them to duet together. The songs Rungkad and Bang Toyib added to the excitement while waiting for the audition time.

D'Academy has produced captivating Gen-Z dangdut stars that have caught the public's attention across Indonesia, such as Tasya DA7, Valen DA7, April DA7, Arbil DA7, and Mila DA7. Now INDOSIAR is preparing to scout the next young dangdut talent through D’Academy 8 (DA8).

6. The Next Offline Audition Will Be Held in Jakarta

The offline audition for D'Academy 8 was previously successfully held in Musi Banyuasin Regency on Saturday (April 18), Medan City on Sunday (April 19, 2026), Sidenreng Rappang Regency on Saturday (April 25), and Makassar City on Sunday (April 26). The D'Academy 8 auditions will also be held in Balikpapan (May 2), Cirebon (May 3), in addition to Surabaya (May 9) and Jakarta (May 10) as the closing audition.

The auditions are open and free of charge. Participants must be between 14 and 23 years old and are required to bring official identification and a recent photo. Additionally, they must not be under contract with any label or artist management.
