Becoming Evidence in the Arrest of Lucinta Luna, Riklona Pills Turns Out to be Commonly Consumed by People with Mental Disorders

Kapanlagi.com - Lucinta Luna was arrested by the police on Tuesday (11/2/2020). The raid took place in an apartment in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta. Along with the arrest, evidence such as several ecstasy pills, riklona pills, and tramadol were seized.

The Head of the Emergency Department at Kemang Medical Care, Prudence Bachtum, revealed that riklona is a type of sedative commonly used as an antidepressant in the healthcare field. This medication is usually prescribed by psychiatric doctors to patients who have difficulty sleeping and experience anxiety disorders.

1. Usually Consumed by Patients with Mental Disorders

Prudence Bachtum revealed that the medicine is commonly consumed by people suffering from mental disorders. This medicine actually should be consumed based on a doctor's prescription.

"Usually people with anxiety disorders, mental illnesses actually, from a psychiatrist usually if they can get that medicine," she said when contacted on Tuesday (11/2/2020).

Furthermore, Prudence stated that Riklona is often misused as a sleeping pill. She also revealed that many sedatives are used as sleeping pills by some people.

2. Tramadol Medicine

Unlike Riklona, tramadol turns out to be a pain reliever that belongs to the morphine class. In other words, this medicine can cause addiction if consumed by people in normal condition. The addictive effects of this medicine are almost similar to narcotics.

"So addictive, because it does create addiction, people who don't feel pain want it again, like becoming addicted to narcotics," Prudence continued.

3. Available at Pharmacies

Riklona and tramadol can indeed be purchased at pharmacies. However, to buy both of these drugs, a person must have a doctor's prescription.

"You do need a doctor's prescription, usually you have to bring a prescription to buy at the pharmacy," said Prudence.

4. Side Effects

Prudence added that consuming these two drugs can cause addiction. When someone is addicted to riklona, they will feel very anxious and have difficulty sleeping if they don't consume it. In addition, the dosage of these drugs can also increase over time.

Not only does tramadol cause addiction, but it also affects the user's stomach condition. Because it tends to be acidic, this drug will disrupt the stomach's function.

"Tramadol is addictive, it's a drug, so it can cause withdrawal symptoms. Tramadol is acidic in nature, so it can affect the stomach if consumed continuously without control," explained Prudence.
