After releasing a duet song with her boyfriend, Irfan Sbaztian titled Cinta Dalam Benci (Love in Hate), last August, now Irma is launching a new song titled Gerandong.

Gerandong, which is Irma Darmawangsa's own creation, was officially released on various digital music platforms on January 21, 2021.

"The song Cinta Dalam Benci has received a good response. That's why I'm confident in releasing a new single even though we are currently in the Covid-19 pandemic," said Irma.

1. Create Your Own Song

In the song Gerandong, Irma as the songwriter and singer, wants to convey a message to women to be careful in finding a partner. Irma urges not to judge a man solely based on his appearance.

"That's the moral message of the song Gerandong, for girls, don't just look at a man based on his wealth or judge someone solely based on their appearance. Sometimes what we see on the outside may not reflect what's inside," she said.

2. Personal Experience

The song Gerandong tells the story of a playboy who enjoys deceiving many women by pretending to be rich when he actually has nothing. Irma said that the song was inspired by her personal experience and stories from her friends.

"One of my exes was almost like that, pretending to be rich. And there was also a friend who used to confide in me, it turned out that her boyfriend was caught using a car that they often used together when they were dating, it was a rental car, hahaha," she said.
