Born from a Family of Chicken Noodle Sellers, This is Lesti's Career Journey Until Becoming a Top Singer in the Country

However, apart from that, the owner of the full name Lesti Andriani is indeed a talented person. Starting her career at a young age, Lesti has now transformed into one of the idols.

Her ability in singing dangdut is undeniable. After being crowned as the best singer in Dangdut Academy season one, Lesti's career has skyrocketed and achieved success as it is now.

Now, here is Lesti's career journey, a child born from a simple couple who has transformed into a star.

1. Born from a Simple Family

Born in Cianjur, August 5, 1999, from a father named Endang Mulyana and mother Sukartini, Lesti is the only daughter and the second child of 3 siblings. Compared to now, her life back then can be considered very simple. 

From several information obtained by the KapanLagi team, it is known that Lesti's family in the village is a chicken noodle seller with a simple house with walls made of woven bamboo.

Successfully becoming a young dangdut singer, Lesti then renovated her small shack but did not remove the chicken noodle cart in her house. She also bought a house in the Tangerang area as her residence while pursuing a career in Jakarta. 

2. Singing from Stage to Stage

Being a singer has apparently become Lesti's way of life. Since the age of 4, Lesti has been learning to sing traditional Sundanese songs. 

Although she doesn't know from whom she inherited this talent, singing has become one of Lesti's daily activities. And at the age of 8, precisely in the 2nd grade of elementary school, this singer of the song Kejora started her singing career as an orchestra singer from stage to stage.

3. Audition for Dangdut Academy Season One

At the age of 14, Lesti, who was still in the second grade of junior high school, tried to change her fate by auditioning for Dangdut Academy in Bandung in 2014. 

Her singing ability successfully made her pass the audition and receive a Golden Ticket to directly participate in the nomination at Indosiar Studio.

However, both Lesti and her parents did not expect anything grand. Being able to pass and perform on a big stage was more than enough and extraordinary for them. 

4. Dangdut Academy Champion

Lesti's ability to sing classic dangdut is truly commendable. Her voice, pronunciation, vocal techniques, intonation, and even the emotions she shows while singing impressed the judges and acknowledged the talent of the 14-year-old girl. 

After going through the preliminary rounds on the D'Academy stage, Lesti finally made it to the finals and had to compete against Nur Aty from Selayar, who was also a strong candidate for the champion title. 

Due to her abilities and quality, Lesti was eventually crowned as the first champion of D'Academy. As the champion, Lesti was able to bring home a cash prize of Rp100 million and 1 car.   

5. Release Single

Becoming a champion in D'Academy, Lesti not only won money and a car, but she also obtained a contract with Trinity Optima Production which until now still supports her. Not only that, Lesti also has the rights to the song Kejora composed by Nurbayan.

Successful with Kejora, Lesti then tried her luck again by releasing 2 songs in 2016, namely Zapin Melayu and Egois. These two songs were even more successful and made her name alongside the top dangdut singers in the country. 

6. Acting

Her ability to delve into the emotions of songs apparently caught the attention of several production houses. And as a result, Lesti successfully obtained leading roles in several miniseries, such as Kejora, Merpati Tak Pernah Galau, and Kejora 2.

Not only in miniseries, Lesti also appeared as the main character in several FTV titles, as well as playing a role in a soap opera.

7. Dating with Rizki DA and Deciding to Wear Hijab

One year after Dangdut Academy season one, Lesti found herself in a location-based love with Rizki, a graduate of D'Academy season two. And the two of them were in a relationship for about 4 years before finally breaking up at the end of 2019. 

In 2019, Lesti decided to wear hijab. Her decision faced a lot of opposition. However, for Lesti herself, she strongly believed that success and fortune are not dependent on whether she wears hijab or not. And indeed, she became even more successful and soared. 

8. Becoming a Judge in LIDA 2020

Having succeeded as a dangdut singer, Lesti's abilities were once again tested. But unlike before, this time she was the one sitting in the judge's chair. Yes, Lesti was appointed as one of the judges in Liga Dangdut Indonesia 2020.

And as a judge, Lesti's abilities are no less than the other senior judges. 

9. Many Awards

Since starting her career in the entertainment industry in 2014, until now Lesti has received at least 9 awards. 

In her first year of her career, Lesti immediately won 2 awards, one from SCTV Music Awards in the category of Most Popular Dangdut Song and another from Indonesian Dangdut Awards as the Most Popular New Female Artist. And until 2020, Lesti has successfully brought home other awards. 

Until now, Lesti can be considered as one of the talented dangdut singers in the country. Especially at her young age, Lesti can still continue to develop and it is predicted that she will become a dangdut diva in the future.
