Child Arrested for Drug Related Offense, Rita Sugiarto Admits Oversight

Kapanlagi.com - Dangdut singer Rita Sugiarto admits oversight when hearing that her child, Rafie Zimah, was arrested by the police for the misuse of the drug type of methamphetamine.

As a parent, she is always vigilant with the rampant circulation of drugs. Rita even often asks her child to undergo urine tests to ensure that her beloved child is not influenced by illegal drugs.

"As a parent, at least be vigilant, there is a sense of worry. Like me, a single parent, as a father and a mother, I am concerned, 'Ah, I want to test him'," said Rita Sugiarto in the Tendean area, Jakarta, on Friday (21/5).

Rita said that her child's urine test results have always been negative for drugs. Therefore, she admitted to being caught off guard when she found out that Rafie Zimah was arrested.

"In a negative state, and then a while later I tested negative again, so this is really a surprise. If he admits to using drugs for a long time, that's good, honestly, the fact is that he was negative before but like this, this is a surprise," she said.

2. Message to Her Child

Now, Rita only hopes that her child, who has become a victim of drug abuse, will repent and not repeat the same mistake.

"For my child, I hope he repents. For everyone, drugs are our problem, don't try drugs. For those who have already fallen into it, they must repent and quit forever," she said.

3. Chronology of Rafie Zimah's Arrest

As is known, Rafie Zimah was arrested by Unit 2 Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya on Monday (17/5) at around 16.00 WIB at Villa Sri Manganti, Ciracas, East Jakarta. From the arrest, evidence was found in the form of 0.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Rafie, who tested positive for crystal methamphetamine use, admitted to using it for the past 3 years and is facing a maximum prison sentence of 4 years. He is charged under Article 127 paragraph (1) of the Indonesian Law no. 35 of 2009.
