Kapanlagi.com - Dangdut singer Ucie Sucita flooded with criticism while entertaining earthquake victims in Sumedang, West Java. It all started when the Instagram account @tahuekspres uploaded a video of Ucie Sucita singing in a shelter.

This native woman of Sumedang sang the song Ikan Dalam Kolam to entertain the residents in the shelter. The residents of the shelter seemed enthusiastic and entertained. They joined in dancing and singing with Ucie Sucita.

However, various responses emerged from netizens in the comments section of the upload. They criticized Ucie Sucita's actions for singing in the midst of the sorrow of the earthquake victims. "Why not recite prayers and remembrance together instead of singing dangdut, oh Allah," wrote one netizen.

"The intention was to entertain the residents. But it's just not appropriate, she shouldn't have sung dangdut, let alone danced like that. At least, a joint prayer or maybe if there had already been a joint prayer/recitation, she could have sung along while sitting and clapping hands with the children, because surely the children are traumatized," replied another netizen.

Meanwhile, Ucie Sucita also shared her activities while being in the shelter of earthquake victims. As a native of Sumedang, Sule's duet partner in the song Perjalanan Cinta, she felt called to help the community. Ucie also hopes and prays that the earthquake victims are given strength and resilience to face the disaster.

"Thank you also to the community, government, and volunteers, for every prayer, assistance, and support. Stay alert and vigilant. Together, with difficulties, there will always be ease," said Ucie Sucita.
