Kapanlagi.com - Dangdut singer Dewi Perssik welcomes the month of Ramadan with great happiness. This year, she feels happier because her mother can come to Jakarta from Jember to observe the holy month together.
"I'm happy this Ramadan because my parents, especially my mom Mami, can come to Jakarta. They can come to Jakarta," said Dewi Perssik in the Tendean area of South Jakarta recently.
The singer, fondly called Depe, revealed that Ramadan feels different without parents or a partner. The presence of her mother makes the atmosphere more comfortable and meaningful.
"Because if Ramadan comes and there are no parents, no partner, it definitely feels different. I mean, there’s a feeling, then the atmosphere. But if there are parents, at least it’s nice to be together," she said.
In addition, the singer of the song Sweet Dream shares about the moments he misses the most during Ramadan. Traditional foods like dates and kolak are part of the memories that are always awaited.
“What I miss is definitely eating dates, then having kolak, then breaking the fast, and then what else, sahur when I have to wake up, you know. Waking up at half past three, sometimes not having sahur, things like that,” he said.
Additionally, he reminisces about his friends who have passed away and feels increasingly grateful for the health and opportunities he still has.
“Because many of my friends who were with me, still on the phone, during this fasting month are now gone,” he said.
“Because of accidents, various illnesses. So hopefully we are granted health by Allah, and we can enjoy this holy month at home this year, next year with our extended family,” he concluded.
