How many flight hours? Allowances, if accumulated, maybe it's possible," said Fitri Carlina when met at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (30/8/2023).

Fitri Carlina knows that domestic pilot salaries are only around Rp 100 million. In fact, it could be more than Rp.100 million.

"Yes, it reaches (Rp. 100 million), even more. Alhamdulillah more. Well, basically, what can I say, we just pray for the best. With this story, the welfare of pilots can be lifted, because the risks are indeed high," she said.

As the wife of a pilot, Fitri Carlina knows her husband's income named Hendra Sumendap very well. Moreover, her husband himself has worked in five different companies during his career as a pilot for over a dozen years.

"I have been following my husband's career journey for a long time. It has been 18 years, from co-pilot Madya bar two, now already a senior with 17,000, almost 18,000 flying hours, in total," she said.

"That struggle was also tough. Now he has reached five companies, and I have followed Hendra's career. So, I already know the salary range for each one," she added.

Nevertheless, Fitri Carlina refuses to disclose the salary of domestic flight pilots. According to her, the topic of salary is very sensitive. However, regardless of that, Fitri Carlina hopes that the hype surrounding pilot salaries can draw the attention of airlines so that the fate of pilots can be improved even further.

"I just don't want to spill the beans because it's sensitive, closely related to the profession. Well, if you ask me, I hope it's fair and equal," she said.

"Anyway, let's just pray for the best. As for this salary issue, I pray for the best. With this story, the welfare of pilots can be uplifted because the risks are indeed significant," concluded Fitri Carlina.
