Elvy Sukaesih Ready to Rock Synchronize Fest with Legendary Japanese Ska Band

The Queen of Dangdut, Elvy Sukaesih, is set to share the stage once again with the legendary Japanese ska group, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, on October 5, 2025.

This performance is not just an ordinary collaboration, but a grand reunion that is very historic. This is the first moment they will perform together again after 29 years, when they collaborated in Tokyo in 1996.

Elvy Sukaesih expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for reuniting with the Japanese band in front of her fans in Indonesia.

"Yes, now I will surely reunite, 29 years ago I performed in Tokyo with Tokyo Ska Paradise," said Elvy Sukaesih at a press conference in Kemang, South Jakarta, Wednesday (10/9/2025).

1. Still Continuing to Exist

At the age of 74, Umi Elvy, as she is affectionately called, asks for prayers for good health so she can perform at her best. Jokingly, she mentions her age is still "47 years behind".

"Because it’s not that I’m not okay, I am 47 years old, yes. Behind 74. So hopefully I can still entertain," she said with a smile.

2. Performing Hit Songs with Ska Music Arrangement

As a sneak peek, Elvy Sukaesih assures that she will perform her hit songs which will be rearranged with the energetic ska music touch typical of the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.

"Yes, that’s right, I will feature Mandi Madu and eh Bisik-Bisik Tetangga," she concluded.

3. A Timeless Dangdut Icon

With more than 60 years of work, Elvy Sukaesih has proven herself as a true icon of Indonesian dangdut music. Her contributions are not only in hit songs but also in the development of the genre itself.

Her name will always be remembered as one of the main pillars that brought dangdut to the national and international stage.
