Gunawan LIDA Apparently Once Avoided by Friends Because of Being an Artist, Here's the Story

Kapanlagi.com - Gunawan Muharjan or better known as Gunawan LIDA apparently had an annoying experience when he came out as runner-up in the Indonesian Dangdut League 2020. Of course, when the competition ended, it was the perfect moment for the participants to go home to their hometowns and reunite with their loved ones, but it was during this moment that Gunawan experienced the annoying situation.

During a live interview with KapanLagi Dangdut on Sunday (17/4), Gunawan revealed that there were indeed many different treatments when he returned to his hometown as a champion. He mentioned that the people around him felt awkward, whereas he did not want to be treated differently just because he had appeared on television.

1. Once Avoided

"I was disappointed with the opinion that 'you are already an artist, don't do this, don't do that.' It shouldn't be like that. My friends have known me since we were kids, we used to play together, so when I go back to my hometown, I want to be the same old Gunawan. Don't treat me as Gunawan on TV, but still treat me as the Gunawan who used to go out without sandals," said Gunawan LIDA.

Not only that, Gunawan also mentioned that he was once avoided by his friends because they felt awkward about his status as a professional singer. Fortunately, Gunawan chose to approach his friends again and show them that he hasn't changed despite being known by many people now.

2. Once Forbidden to Leave the House

"They didn't want to get close to me, that's what made Gunawan really annoyed when we went back to our hometown, they were hesitant to get close to me because I'm a celebrity. Even some who wanted to chat felt uneasy and hesitant. I didn't like it. In the end, Gunawan made the approach, I came to hang out with friends, and finally Gunawan brought them together so we could hang out like before," said the 24-year-old man.

In addition, Gunawan also revealed that his parents had once forbidden him to leave the house. However, over time, Gunawan's environment and friends began to get used to it.

3. Used to It

"My parents used to say that I shouldn't go out too much in the village, but I had to go out to get used to it," he said.

"Finally, after a few visits, they got used to it, and that's what makes Gunawan really happy. Gunawan is okay if people see him, they're used to it," he added.
