Singer Fitri Carlina can breathe a little easier now, as her husband, Hendra Sumendap, is able to take a 10-day leave from his job as a pilot. Behind that, the 36-year-old singer reveals that she has become closer to God due to her worries for her husband. What happened?
Apparently, Fitri's husband is a pilot for international flights, and the countries he flies over include Palestine. This is what makes Fitri worried about Hendra.
"Mas Hendra is flying in an area close to volatile zones, so I pray really hard for his safety," said Fitri when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/11/2023).
"Now imagine, Mas Hendra is flying while there are rockets flying below. And the route is indeed passing through Lebanon, Jordan, and close to Palestine that is currently struggling," added Fitri.Â
As a wife, Fitri admitted that she is worried about her husband. The only thing she can do as a mother of one child is to pray to God for the safety of Hendra and everyone on his plane.Â
"Worry, very worried, because it's not just Hendra's life at stake. Then I also pray for Hendra's safety, because there are passengers that Hendra must take care of," Fitri said.
"As a wife, I really surrender, but I also ask Allah to accompany Hendra, even though his duty is far away but it's also heavy. This is our mutual dream and it's also a path from Allah, we take the risk," Fitri continued.
Hendra himself admitted that he knows exactly what Fitri feels every night, always worrying about him and crying every night. That's why, as a husband, Hendra always tries to calm her down.
"Before departing and after landing, I always call her. And we also have a deal that I have to answer the phone whenever she calls, no matter what time it is," Hendra concluded.
