Ligea LIDA Once Sang with Her Father to Meet Daily Needs

One of the singers who emerged from the talent search event Liga Dangdut Indonesia 2021, Ligea is now firmly pursuing her career in the entertainment industry in the homeland. The 17-year-old girl, after leaving the competition, has become one of the new singers under the music label Nagaswara.

But who would have thought, Ligea's journey to reach this point was not easy. Starting from the insults she received when participating in various competitions in her hometown, to singing around to meet daily needs that she once experienced.

Not only that, when deciding to audition for LIDA 2021, Ligea still felt the insults. She mentioned that many people underestimated her singing abilities.

"I used to be told 'you won't pass and you'll end up busking again', I used to busk with my brother and dad who brought a speaker (going around)," said Ligea to Kapanlagi.com, Central Jakarta, (9/2) Friday afternoon.

Not only that, there are often judgmental people around who try to break Ligea's spirit in achieving her dreams. But luckily, Ligea at that time didn't really care about those criticisms.

"If I lose, I lose and I won't continue in the music world, my spirit might be crushed but I don't really care," she said.

When asked further, Ligea shared her experience of busking during that time. She also didn't hesitate to reveal that her earnings from busking were less than Rp 100,000. "When I don't have a singing competition, I busk with my brother. I busk every afternoon and on weekends, Sunday mornings," she said.

"(Income) is at most Rp 70 thousand. But sometimes it's only Rp 30 thousand," he continued.

Ligea admitted that she really enjoyed those moments. She also mentioned that there were often people who thought she was lip-syncing when she was singing while busking.

"(Many funny incidents), sometimes thought to be lip-syncing, some people don't believe that it's really my voice," Ligea concluded.
