Dangdut singer Dewi Perssik is one of the artists who became a victim of domestic violence. Instead of reporting to the police, the woman known as Depe chose to get divorced. It is known that Depe has been married three times and all ended in divorce. In her first marriage, Depe admitted to being a victim of domestic violence.
"People don't know why I got divorced. That's why I'm happy that Lesti spoke up about the issue of domestic violence. Back then, there were no laws, but in 2016 the law was established," said Dewi Perssik at the South Jakarta Police Station, Monday (31/10/2022).
Just like any other married couple, Depe admits that she wants to get married once for a lifetime. However, she chose to divorce because she was married to a man who committed violence against her.
"I also don't want to become a widow, but fate says otherwise. I also want to get married once for a lifetime. But if I meet a man who hits me, I've been working day and night," she said.
Depe knows very well what it feels like to be a victim of domestic violence. Not only her mental health was disturbed, but due to her husband's treatment, Depe even had a miscarriage.
"If someone says no, that's impossible. Every woman created by God in this world surely wants to have offspring, and so do I. I have experienced a miscarriage, and it was because of domestic violence," said Depe.
"I know how it feels. That's why when I got married for the second time, I told my husband at that time, let me heal first so that I want to get pregnant. So I took care of myself so that I wouldn't get pregnant," Depe concluded.
Recently, it was revealed that Dewi Perssik visited the South Jakarta Metro Police Station on Monday (31/10/2022). The singer, who is familiarly called Depe, was accompanied by her lawyer, Sandy Arifin, at around 11:43 AM.
Depe plans to report several accounts suspected to be fans of Lesti and Billar who have made negative comments about her. At least three to five accounts, allegedly fans of Lesti Kejora and Rizky Billar, will be reported by Dewi Persik.
