After undergoing an examination on Wednesday (12/10) yesterday, Rizky Billar's status, which was originally a witness, has been upgraded to a suspect in a domestic violence case.
According to the police statement, Rizky Billar has violated Law Number 23 of 2004 Article 44 Paragraph 1 which regulates domestic violence with a prison sentence of 5 years.
As known, Lesti reported her husband to the South Jakarta Metro Police for alleged domestic violence committed by Rizky Billar at the end of September 2022.
After initially evading, Rizky Billar finally responded to the police summons to provide testimony as a witness.
In this domestic violence case, the police found two pieces of evidence as support, namely the results of the examination and the CCTV recording of the incident.
Detention against Rizky Billar is carried out so that there is a deterrent effect. Regarding the duration of the detention itself, it will be carried out for the next twenty days.
"This afternoon, the detention was carried out immediately. Detention has certain considerations, one of which is to prevent the suspect from repeating the same act against the victim," said Kabid Humas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol E Zulpan to the media.
The twenty-day detention of Rizky Billar will be extended in relation to the continuation of the investigation process. Because the legal process itself is still ongoing.
After being detained for one night, Rizky Billar was presented in front of the media wearing detainee clothes.
There, the 27-year-old man could only bow down in despair and looked very weak.
