Prefer Cooking Myself Rather Than Buying Thai Food at Restaurants, Jirayut: The Taste Feels Not Authentic

Kapanlagi.com - It's been approximately seven months since Jirayut hasn't returned to his home country, Thailand. This is due to the spread of the coronavirus which has led him to undergo self-quarantine at home.

Since there are no activities, Jirayut decided to learn cooking with the help of his assistant who is also from Thailand. The chosen dishes are, of course, menus from his homeland to cure his homesickness.

"Ever since the coronavirus, I've been cooking at home more often. I cook recipes from my mom with the help of my assistant who is also from Thailand. So we cook together, like tom yum, minced chicken," said Jirayut when met in the Kapten Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Monday (20/7/2020).

1. Tastes Not Genuine

In Jakarta, there are certainly restaurants that sell famous sour Thai dishes. However, Jirayut prefers to cook himself rather than buy because the taste is different.

"Because if you don't cook it yourself, it doesn't taste genuine. So you have to cook it yourself to make it taste authentic. If you cook it yourself, it will definitely be delicious," said the singer who came from the D'Academy Asia event.

2. Favorite Indonesian Menu

Of course, during his stay in Indonesia, Jirayut has tried many local dishes. When asked what his favorite dish is, it turns out that the answer can be found by KLovers without any difficulty.

"If it's Indonesian cuisine, I like nasi padang and bakso. These two are Jirayut's favorites. And then there's Sundanese cuisine. Also, if you eat without sambal, it doesn't taste good," said the 19-year-old guy.
