Ratu Meta Angry Her Name Is Misused via WhatsApp to Borrow Money

Kapanlagi.com - Ratu Meta expressed her frustration because her name and photo were misused by someone irresponsible to borrow money. Strangely, the perpetrator seemed to know the phone numbers of Ratu Meta's artist friends to carry out his evil actions.

“I'm angry. The person is so evil. He used my name and photo to borrow money through WhatsApp messages to my friends. There have been two artists who received the messages, Ovy Sovianty (former member of Ratu Serigala) and Devi Demplon,” explained Ratu Meta to reporters on Monday (13/7/2020).

1. Lend Money

According to Ratu Meta, the perpetrator's modus operandi is to claim that the ATM card in question is over the limit. Since it can only be used on the following day, they borrow some money to pay for their online shopping from Meta's friends.

“Ovy asked for 900 thousand rupiah. The reason was that her ATM card was over the limit for paying online purchases. Fortunately, Ovy contacted me and found out that it was a scam,” explained Ratu Meta.

2. Perpetrators Attempt to Commit Crime

Not only to Ovy Sovianty, but the perpetrator also attempted to commit the same crime against other artists, including Devi Lanni or Devi Demplon. Once again, the artist tried to contact Ratu Meta to confirm the loan.

“Yes, I told them it was a scam. I've always used the same number that they already know. Even if I change my number, I will definitely inform them. What a stupid scammer, borrowing 1 billion dong, but only 700 thousand or 1 million,” said Ratu Meta.

3. Share the Story with His Friends

To limit the scammer's movements, Ratu Meta shared the story experienced by her two friends, including revealing the scammer's phone number through her Instagram account. She apologized to her friends who had been contacted by the perpetrator via WhatsApp to borrow money on her behalf.

"I apologize to my friends who have been contacted by the perpetrator via WhatsApp to borrow money on my behalf. I have never changed my phone number. Friends, please don't get scammed. If you receive the same message, please make sure to call me," added the singer of the hit single Sakitnya Luar Dalam.
