Rere Reina Prepares Her Daughter, Mauren Olivia, to Continue Her Mission in the World of Indonesian Dangdut

Kapanlagi.com - After being involved in the world of Indonesian dangdut for quite some time, Rere Reina seems to be taking a break as a singer. The baton of her career will soon be handed over to her daughter, Mauren Olivia.

At a young age, and soon to graduate from high school, Mauren will continue her mother's mission for Indonesian dangdut. As a young person who loves dangdut, Mauren wants to make dangdut more popular among young people. With a more millennial packaging, Mauren dreams of completely eliminating negative comments or even stigma about dangdut.

"Dangdut is difficult but I enjoy performing it even though it's hard. Many people think dangdut is tacky, but I want to show that my skills, packaged with good appearance, can be performed in a contemporary way," said Mauren when met at TVRI, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (26/4).

"From the beginning, my mission in dangdut was to bring the music that was once considered tacky to become more elegant. Now, I hand over this mission to Mauren to continue," added Rere Reina.

Deciding to seriously pursue a career as a singer, Mauren had to sacrifice her education. After graduating from high school, Mauren will take a break and postpone her college for the sake of her career as a singer.

"It's not that I don't want to go to college, but for now, I want to take a gap year first. I'm the type of person who, when I start something, I'll focus on it first," said Mauren.

"During school, Mauren didn't focus on her career at all. She ran her school well. She was responsible," added Rere Reina.

2. Preparing for New Single

Mauren, who has previously released a single, will prepare a flagship song as her weapon in the world of Indonesian dangdut music.

"The song already has a title, Pengumuman. This song was actually going to be released before, but since Mauren was still young at the time and the lyrics were more for adults, it was postponed. Everything is being prepared now. The music will be made more mature," concluded Rere Reina.
