The freedom of Saipul Jamil has indeed sparked controversy. The fact that he is free from this sexual harassment case seems to be exaggerated, and he even managed to secure a place in several television programs.

The public, who perceived his freedom as glorification, reacted by creating a petition to prevent his return to the small screen. Saipul was left disappointed as some programs featuring him were forced to be canceled by the television network.

Saipul visited Hotman Paris regarding the many job contracts that had to be canceled due to the wave of public rejection. Hotman discussed this matter through his personal Instagram account.

"Saipul Jamil came to me asking about the KPI letter dated September 6, 2021, titled follow-up to public objections," he said on his Instagram page.

Previously, Saipul received a letter from the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), but the letter did not explicitly state that Saipul was not allowed to return to television.

However, because of that letter, Saipul claimed to have suffered losses as several job contracts for him were suddenly canceled by television stations after the KPI letter was issued.

Hotman who also read the letter suddenly wondered because there was no court decision prohibiting Saipul Jamil from appearing on television after being released from prison.

"I wonder. Saipul Jamil has already served his sentence obediently. And the court that sentenced him, it's already finished. So it becomes a question, what is the reason for questioning Saipul Jamil's presence in public again," said Hotman Paris.

"TV media is worried about inviting Saipul Jamil on TV. Even though the court decision does not eliminate his right to enter TV," he added.

Hotman Paris also mentioned KPI in his statement, and also asked Komnas HAM to pay attention to the Saipul Jamil case.

"This concerns very basic human rights. We also ask the DPR and especially the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) to proactively respond to the circulation of the KPI letter just because of the public's euphoria in welcoming Saipul Jamil when he was released. And that is beyond the jurisdiction of the KPI," he concluded.
