"Based on the collection of facts, the investigators ultimately held a case review and on January 29, 2026, decided to stop the investigation process on the grounds that it was not a criminal act," said the Head of Public Relations Subdivision of the Metro Jaya Police, Kompol Andaru Rahutomo, when met at the Metro Jaya Police, South Jakarta, Thursday (05/03/2026).

As a background, this case began with a report from Yoni Dores in May 2025 regarding the use of four of his songs, including the hit song 'Arjuna Buaya', in a performance by Lesti in 2017. The report alleged an intellectual property violation because the performance video was uploaded to the YouTube platform without permission.

However, after examining seven witnesses and two experts, the police found new facts that exonerated Lesti. It turned out that Rizky Billar's wife only acted as a performer who collaborated with the event organizers.

"The investigator then gathered facts, called several witnesses, the seven witnesses earlier and also experts, and found facts that during this process, Ms. LK, the reported party, collaborated with the organizer," explained Kompol Andaru.

Furthermore, the police explained that in the cooperation contract between Lesti and the organizer, there is a clause that explicitly regulates royalties. The responsibility for paying royalties to the song creator is entirely borne by the event organizer, not by Lesti as the singer.

"There is a clause in the agreement stating that the obligation to resolve the royalty issue lies with the organizer. So here, Ms. LK is already aware that there are royalty rights that must be resolved, which cannot be ignored," he added.

With the existence of this agreement evidence, the police concluded that Lesti did not commit any legal violations. The video that is the subject of the case was also found to be uploaded on a YouTube channel that does not belong to the singer.
