Via Vallen Reveals Desire to Embrace Islam and Quit Being a Dangdut Singer

She revealed this during a live Instagram session with Inul Daratista some time ago. At that time, Via mentioned that there is still a dream that she hasn't been able to fulfill until now.

"The dream that hasn't been fulfilled until now, I want to start a family business. Like Inul, she has many businesses, how about you, Inul?" said Via Vallen as quoted from Fimela.com.

1. Want to Do Business

Via Vallen's intention to do business turns out to be related to her desire to migrate and change her appearance by wearing a hijab. This singer from Sidoarjo also mentioned that she intends to retire from the entertainment world, especially dangdut, once she can start a business.

"Why do I want to start a business? It's because I have a goal to migrate, to wear a hijab. In the future, I don't want to be in the entertainment industry anymore, I want to be in a different field," she said.

"Dangdut singers wearing hijab are still not accepted, even though people say that there's always a way, but it has been difficult so far. That's why I have to find a support system for my family," added Via Vallen.

2. Stop Singing

Via's desire actually surprised Inul Daratista. She even gave an example that some of her friends can still have a career in the entertainment industry even though they wear a hijab.

However, Maulidia Octavia, also known as Via Vallen, has a firm answer. She still feels that it will be more difficult for her to perform freely if she wears a hijab.

"What I mean is, it's difficult as a dangdut singer. Many of my friends have migrated, but it's impossible for them to become guest stars in clubs, our opportunities become limited. It's not a problem for actresses or presenters to wear a hijab. But for dangdut singers, it's difficult. I hope there will be other support systems and everything goes smoothly," she concluded.
