Kapanlagi.com - The social media world was recently shocked by a video showing the arrest of artist Saipul Jamil. In the video, a man who is allegedly Saipul Jamil is seen sitting while surrounded by several people.
Regarding the circulating video, Raja Nasution, Saipul Jamil's lawyer, confirmed the news of the arrest when contacted by KapanLagi.com via telephone on Friday (5/1). Raja confirmed that his client is indeed the man in the video. However, Raja still hasn't received further information about his client's arrest.
"Yes, it's true, but I still can't confirm. Until now, I am still trying to contact my colleague in West Jakarta," said Raja Simanjuntak.
"If there is any information later, I will convey it. But what is certain is that (the arrest) happened in West Jakarta, correct," he continued.

When asked further, Raja explained that there were allegations that Saipul Jamil was detained by authorities for suspected drug abuse. However, once again, he couldn't confirm it yet.
"But we can't be sure that Saipul Jamil did things with illegal substances. Because when inside (prison), it's not just him," he concluded.
When contacted by KapanLagi, the police confirmed that Saipul Jamil had been detained. "Examination is still being conducted (on Saipul Jamil). We will inform (about the case) later. He was not arrested but detained," said Tambora Police Chief, Commissioner Donny Agung Harvida.
