Younger Sister of Via Vallen Tests Positive for Corona, Previously Underwent Rapid Test and Declared Non-Reactive

Kapanlagi.com - Via Vallen shared the news that one of her siblings has tested positive for corona through a post on Instagram, last Sunday (24/5). In the post, Via recounted the chronology of her sibling's illness.

While posting the results of a lung X-ray, Via mentioned that her sibling was diagnosed with pneumonia. She quickly sought information from several specialist doctors.

"So, the result of my sibling's lung shows #pneumonia, and my parents were worried because they were afraid of corona (fyi, my sibling goes to Surabaya almost every day to pick up their partner who works at the mall). Finally, I asked several lung specialists and they all said it's okay (it's because of smoking, bla bla bla)" wrote Via.

1. Non-Reactive Rapid Test

Worried about the possibility of her sibling testing positive for corona, the dangdut singer from Sidoarjo finally took the initiative to invite her sibling to undergo a rapid test.

"My sibling did experience shortness of breath long before the existence of #corona. But because one of the symptoms of corona is pneumonia, and there are also sick parents at home,
to make sure everything is really fine, I took them to a COVID-19 referral hospital for a rapid test and the result is NON-REACTIVE," said Via.

2. Not Recommended to Undergo Further Testing

Feeling not completely at ease, Via then sought information on whether her sibling needed to undergo further testing. However, she was actually not recommended to undergo additional tests because the result from the rapid test was already non-reactive.

"I asked if there are any other tests to confirm corona or not? Some nurses there mentioned the swab test, but it's not necessary because the rapid test is accurate. It's a waste of money, sis, swab tests are expensive and the results take a long time," Via explained.

3. Positive Corona

Nevertheless, Via Vallen still tried to convince her younger brother to do a swab test. And it turns out, the test result came out differently from the previous rapid test.

"Because I wanted to make sure that he's completely fine, I forced him to do the swab test by promising to give him pocket money if the result is negative because he didn't want to do it. Eventually, he agreed. After waiting for 10 days, it turns out the result is POSITIVE," concluded the 28-year-old dangdut singer.
