Bored Shooting Soap Operas, Indra Bruggman Focuses on Developing His Cafe Business

Kapanlagi.com - The name Indra Bruggman seems to have disappeared from the hustle and bustle of the Indonesian entertainment world. Apparently, the actor known for his role in the soap opera Jinny oh Jinny is currently bored with shooting activities.

"I am indeed tired of playing in soap operas. There is nothing challenging in the offers. The directors only know how to say action and cut. That's why I switched to another business field," said Indra.

Indra admitted that he is currently focusing on managing his cafe business located in the Tebet area of South Jakarta. The cafe is named Kopibrug, taken from his family name, Bruggman.

"This is the field that I am currently pursuing. Previously, I was in the Muslim fashion business with my family. Here, I truly pour my thoughts, energy, and savings. I need prayers and support from all those who were once my fans," said Indra when met at his cafe, which is starting to attract visitors.

1. Sunda Concept

In Kopibrug Indra offers the concept of ngariung taken from the Sundanese language which means gathering. "If the type of drink may be the same as other cafes. What sets it apart is the ngariung atmosphere here. A gathering place for friends, companions, and family. That's why there are several private rooms and also open spaces here," said the actor born in Tasikmalaya, May 8, 1981.

In addition to serving various types of drinks, the cafe also provides a typical food, namely nasi lemak. Indra said that nasi lemak is his favorite food.

"This is my way of honoring my late mother. Because our family made my mother's homemade nasi lemak our favorite food because it tastes delicious and the mixture of vegetables and meat is complete. This is truly an extraordinary food," he said.

2. Furniture Made by Indra

To add warmth to the atmosphere, visitors are pampered with the sound of electric acoustic music every day from 16.00 to 21.00 WIB. The attraction at Kafe Kopibrug is also the handmade furniture by Indra Bruggman himself.

"I really made this myself. It may not be as neat as furniture made by a carpenter, but it's decent. Just channeling my hobby of carpentry. And at the same time, saving expenses to buy furniture," he said while laughing.

3. Not Just a Side Job

In this current pandemic, Kopibrug, which can accommodate up to 300 people, is open from 09.00 to 21.00 WIB. "Here, we strictly follow health protocols. Starting from temperature checks, mask usage, hand washing, maintaining distance, and also opening hours. It's definitely safe," he said.

Indra is well aware that this business with considerable investment is not just a side job or selling his still popular name to this day. That's why Indra is always present from the opening to the closing of the cafe. "So if you want to meet me, it's easy. Just come to Kopibrug. We can sing together here," he said.
