By sharing his story, Kevin aims to educate the public about the dangers of skin cancer and the importance of early detection efforts.
Through a post on Instagram, Kevin revealed that doctors have found a growth of basal cell carcinoma, a common type of skin cancer, on the right side of his forehead.
Basal cell carcinoma itself is a type of skin cancer that is usually caused by sun exposure and results in the formation of lumps or lesions on the epidermis. In the post, Kevin provides information about the specific type of skin cancer he has and its location.
Kevin has successfully undergone surgery to remove the cancer cells from his body. In a video he shared, Kevin shows the condition after the carcinoma has been removed, with the surgical scar intentionally covered with a bandage.
Through the video, Kevin assures his followers that his skin condition has improved after undergoing carcinoma removal procedure.
In his message, Kevin reminds his fans to check their moles. "Don't forget to always check your moles," he added, emphasizing the importance of early detection for skin health.
Kevin urges his fans to regularly perform self-examinations as a preventive measure and early detection of skin health issues. His disclosure about his health condition received wide response from his fans and appreciation from The Skin Cancer Foundation.
The surgery procedure Kevin underwent was done during the break of the Jonas Brothers' world tour. Kevin, along with his brothers Joe and Nick, last performed in Mexico on April 30th. After the surgery, they are scheduled to resume their tour on August 21st with a concert in Mexico.
