Celebrity Chef Fuller Goldsmith Dies at the Age of 17 After Battling Cancer

Kapanlagi.com - This time, sad news comes from young celebrity chef, Fuller Goldsmith. The teenager, who became famous after winning the Chopped Junior 2017 competition, passed away on 6/10 after battling cancer 5 times.

According to Dailystar.co.uk, Fuller had announced that he had recovered from Leukemia in August 2020. However, he later revealed that the disease had returned for the fifth time in February.

Fuller's father, Scott Goldsmith, said that his son's condition had deteriorated since earlier this week. "He looked tired and ready to go," he said.

"We believe that yesterday his condition was very bad and thought that this was the day (Fuller would go)," Scott added.

1. Fuller's Unexpected Departure

Scott Goldsmith said that he and his family actually knew what would happen to Fuller. However, they did not expect Fuller to leave so quickly.

"We knew what the outcome would be. But we never thought it would happen yesterday," he said.

Scott mentioned that his son was still engaged in various activities last Monday. Unfortunately, Fuller's condition worsened when he experienced fever and difficulty breathing.

"On Monday, he was still active, building Lego, watching all the football matches. But yesterday morning, he had a fever and difficulty breathing," he explained.

"He was ready to go. He peacefully passed away in his sleep, without pain, without struggle, lying in his bed and going to heaven," Scott continued.

2. Diagnosed Since the Age of 3

Fuller Goldsmith passed away at the age of 17. On Saturday (9/10), he would have actually celebrated his 18th birthday. Fuller was first diagnosed with leukemia when he was only 3 years old.

Since then, Fuller fought to recover from the disease 4 times until he announced in February that he was battling leukemia for the fifth time.

When he became the champion of Chopped Junior, Fuller Goldsmith was still 13 years old. The dish he made successfully won the hearts of the judges and made him the champion. He won $10,000 and donated it to the Hematology and Oncology Division for Children at the Children's Hospital Birmingham.
