Cillian Murphy is ready to portray Tommy Shelby, the charismatic gangster leader of Birmingham, in a PEAKY BLINDERS film that will be available on Netflix. This film is a collaboration between Netflix and BBC Film.
"It seems Tommy Shelby is not done with me," said Cillian Murphy to Netflix. "It's very exciting to collaborate again with Steven Knight and Tom Harper in the film version of PEAKY BLINDERS. This is one of the works for the fans," Murphy said.
Tommy Shelby was last seen in Season 6 of the PEAKY BLINDERS series. There, he was riding a white horse and intending to start a new life. The plot of this film is still a secret, but Knight gave a spoiler that this film will be a hit.
"I'm really happy that this film will soon come true," said Knight. "It will be an explosive chapter in the story of PEAKY BLINDERS. It won't be half-hearted, this film will be full of PEAKY BLINDERS who are at war," he continued.

The film will begin production later this year. It will be an epic continuation of the gangster story in its six seasons. Set in Birmingham between 1919 and 1934, PEAKY BLINDERS will follow the ups and downs of the Shelby family as they navigate social, economic, and political changes.
Harper, the director of the first season of PEAKY BLINDERS, will direct the new film based on a script written by Knight. "When I first directed PEAKY BLINDERS over 10 years ago, we didn't know what this series would become, but we knew there was something explosive within the cast and the writing," said Harper.
"Peaky has always been a story about family, so it's very exciting to reunite with Steve and Cillian to bring this film to audiences worldwide through Netflix," he continued.

The impact of PEAKY BLINDERS continues to be felt since the series ended in 2022. Its great approach to men's clothing has sparked a fashion frenzy. Actor, Leo Woodall, called the series his main inspiration. "I watched PEAKY BLINDERS and wore stylish PEAKY BLINDERS hats, imitated Tommy Shelby's style, and thought that I wanted to become an actor," he told Netflix.
