Recently, Gigi Hadid was seen enjoying her exotic vacation in the Cayman Islands. However, surprisingly, she was arrested by authorities for possession of marijuana.
CBS News reported that Gigi was arrested with her friend, Leah McCarthy, on July 10th by the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control.
One of the officers stated, "They arrived on a private plane from America to the Cayman Islands. When their belongings were searched, a small amount of marijuana was found."
However, it turns out that the marijuana Gigi brought during her vacation was legally purchased with a medical license in New York, and it has been legalized for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017.
Nevertheless, Gigi and her friend were still charged in Summary Court and pleaded guilty. They were both released on bail after paying a fine of US$1,200 or approximately IDR 17.9 million.
After the trial is over, Gigi Hadid continues her vacation with her friends. She shares photos of her fun on Instagram.
