Sad news has just come from the Brazilian entertainment world. The top singer from the country, Marilia Mendonca, passed away in a plane crash on Friday (11/7/2021) local time. This news has saddened Brazil as Marilia was one of the best singers there. Here is a little story about Marilia's life and how the accident happened, as reported by the BBC.
The plane crash that claimed Marilia's life occurred in the southeast region of Minas Gerais. The accident happened 12 km from Caratinga, the intended destination where Mendonca was supposed to perform in a concert. In addition to Mendonca, other casualties included the singer's uncle, a producer, and two aircraft crew members.
When the news of this plane crash occurred, Mendonca's staff reported that the singer was safe. But then the television news showed a photo of the badly damaged plane near the waterfall in the mountainous area.
Before the accident happened, Mendonca uploaded a video on her social media account. It showed her walking with a suitcase and a guitar towards a private plane.
On the plane, Mendonca appeared to enjoy delicious food, as if she forgot about her diet plan.
After that, Mendonca showed how she worked hard on her workout for her health and to maintain her appearance.
Mendonca was then seen leaning on the body of the plane while eating an apple with a sad look. Apparently, the video was the last upload from the late singer before the plane he was on had an accident.
Mendonca has been in the music industry since she was a teenager. She gained extraordinary popularity in 2016 through her songs that focus on women failing in love. Therefore, Mendonca is dubbed the Queen of Suffering.

Brazilian footballer, Neymar, expressed his disbelief on Twitter upon learning of Mendonca's death. When scoring a goal for Paris Saint-Germain in the French League, Neymar celebrated by lifting his jersey and revealing a t-shirt underneath with a message of condolences for Mendonca.
