The series of world beauty pageants, Miss Universe 2023, concluded with Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua being crowned the winner in the final round on Saturday, November 18, 2023, in San Salvador, El Salvador. Sheynnis received the crown and sash from R'Bonney Gabriel, her predecessor from the United States. Meanwhile, the first runner-up position was won by the representative from Thailand, Anntonia Porsild, and the representative from Australia, Moraya Wilson, achieved the second runner-up position.
In addition to successfully defeating 83 other candidates from around the world and impressing the judges, Sheynnis Palacios' success in Miss Universe 2023 marks the first victory for a Nicaraguan woman to win this contest. Sheynnis Alondra Palacios Cornejo, born on May 30, 2000 in Managua, Nicaragua. Besides having a beautiful face with a height of 180cm, Sheynnis is proficient in languages. She speaks three languages including Spanish, Portuguese, and English. She obtained her education in mass communication from Universidad Centroamericana, Nicaragua. Currently, she works as a television presenter and model. Sheynnis is also active in producing and editing video content, as stated in her Miss Universe biography.

This 23-year-old woman has had a lot of experience in the field of beauty pageants. Sheynnis' interest in beauty pageants grew when she was still studying at La Salle Managua Pedagogical Institute where she won the Miss Lasallista contest.
Then at the age of 17, Sheynnis began representing her country in the Miss Teen Universe competition in 2017 and finished in the Top 10. Prior to that, she held the title of Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016. She won the Miss World Nicaragua 2020 contest, then entered the Top 40 of Miss World 2021, which was postponed due to the pandemic, and Miss Universe 2023 became her latest achievement in this beauty pageant.

In her final answer to the judges, Sheynnis Palacios emphasized the importance of equal pay regardless of gender, so that women can work in any field.
"There are no limits for women," she said.
When asked who she would choose to live as for a year if she could be another woman, Sheynnis chose the 18th-century English philosopher and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft, whom she believed broke boundaries and "provided opportunities for many women."
"I would choose Mary Wollstonecraft because she bridged the gap in opening opportunities for many women and what I would do, I want that gap, the income gap, to be open so that women can work in any field they choose to work in because there are no limits for women. It happened in 1750, now in 2023, we are making history," she said.
