This course about Taylor Swift has been widely discussed recently since Harvard University, which is a top world university, announced the inauguration of the course Taylor Swift and Her World in 2024. As reported by The New York Times, there are already 300 students who have registered for the class.

According to The New York Times, Stephanie also revealed that one of the activities during the course is to compare Taylor's work with literary works such as novels to find meaning and correlations. Students in the course will also be assigned academic essays on the topic of Taylor Swift. And for the final assignment, students have to write a paper about Taylor Swift.

2. Stanford University

Another top university in the world that has offered courses about Taylor Swift, who has also graduated from this university, is Stanford University. This university is well-known among Swifties for frequently offering courses about the singer of the song FEARLESS.

According to BestColleges, in the last winter quarter, Stanford University created a course called All Too Well (10 minute version) to analyze the song ALL TOO WELL in depth. Then, for the upcoming spring season, Stanford will open another course to study The Last Great American Songwriter: Storytelling With Taylor Swift Through the Eras. The class will be taught by a Stanford student named Ava Jeffs.

In an interview with BestColleges, Ava shared her process of opening the class, "one of the professors in the English Department told me that he liked my syllabus and was willing to sponsor the class as a student-initiated course." Ava said.

Students in the course will dissect different Taylor Swift albums to learn Taylor's storytelling techniques through each era. From the albums they study, students will learn to understand themes, motifs, literary references, and how the songs can connect to a broader storyline.

3. Arizona State University

Reported by BestColleges, at Arizona State University, a graduate student named Alexandra Wormley also opened a Taylor Swift class called Psychology of Taylor Swift. She announced the opening of the class right when Taylor released the album SPEAK NOW: TAYLOR’S VERSION.

"On the most beneficial day for Swifties everywhere, I am thrilled to announce that I will be teaching a class this fall titled Psychology of Taylor Swift," she wrote.

Then, Alexandra also mentioned what topics will be discussed in her class, which are "advanced topics in social psychology," including music psychology, social media, revenge, and romantic relationships.

4. University of California, Berkeley

Different from other universities dissecting the lyrics of each Taylor Swift song, University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) will study Taylor from an economic and business perspective. Considering the extraordinary profits Taylor has gained from the Eras Tour.

As reported by NBC news, the class will be called Artistry and Entrepreneurship: Taylor's Version and will begin next spring. The class will be taught by Crystal Haryanto, an economics graduate, along with a student.
