At today's press conference, director Nia Dinata, who co-wrote the screenplay with writer Lucky Kuswandi, explained why A WORLD WITHOUT is different from other shows.

"This film is set in 2030, and there are still few Indonesian films that talk about the future. There is also no film yet that focuses on a leader or life coach figure targeting young people who are still innocent and have a long future ahead," said Nia Dinata.

"The characters in this film can make people think that if we are not careful, the world can become like that." Lucky also added, "Although it is set in 2030, this film is very relevant because what these three characters are looking for is what most people are looking for, which is certainty about the future, a sense of community, and a sense of belonging."

2. Interesting Locations and Costumes

A WORLD WITHOUT is set in the year 2030, making costumes and clothing an interesting element to watch in this film. Lucky Kuswandi explains the reason behind choosing the setting of A WORLD WITHOUT, "When discussing the kind of world we wanted to portray, we found that some characteristics of a dystopian world, such as technology-controlled society and the loss of individualism and critical thinking, are not far off from the present. The interesting aspect of dystopian fiction is that it provides a mirror for us to reflect upon."

In order to achieve the appropriate setting for the story, director Nia Dinata, who also serves as the production designer, chose buildings with art deco style and architecture from the 1920s that have a timeless look. Additionally, Nia and costume designers Tania Soeprapto and Isabelle Patrice collaborated with several Indonesian fashion designers to showcase various exquisite costumes in this film.

3. The Mystery of The Light

In this film, The Light is portrayed as an organization that promises a better life but is surrounded by mystery. Although initially fascinated by the beauty and comfort offered by The Light, viewers will gradually become curious about the anomalies behind this place. "We created The Light to create a more sustainable generation that is ready to face the future," said Chicco Jerikho, who plays Ali Khan, the founder of The Light.

"Ali has had a bitter experience and wants to make life much better so that future generations will be something we can be proud of," explained Ayushita, who plays Sofia, Ali's wife. "In 2030, we present a guaranteed place to live and a guaranteed life. We invite all members to move forward together and provide facilities for it."

4. Lessons For the Young Generation

Focusing on three teenage girls, A WORLD WITHOUT carries a meaningful message for the young generation. Amanda Rawles, playing Salina who is ambitious, conveys that this film shows the importance of being brave and honest. Asmara Abigail, who portrays Tara, also states how crucial it is for young people to discover their own intuition and inner voice.

"We know what is best for ourselves and we have a passion to move forward into the future. That is what needs to be honed so that we become more mature and brave in facing the journey ahead." Meanwhile, Maizura, playing Ulfah, emphasizes the sisterhood aspect that reflects togetherness and mutual assistance. "Hopefully, this film can encourage people, especially young women, to stand up and find strength from within themselves," she said.

This film features a series of talented stars, including Amanda Rawles, Asmara Abigail, Maizura, Jerome Kurnia, Chicco Jerikho, Ayushita, Richard Kyle, Dira Sugandi, and many more. Their acting prowess will bring to life various strong characters in this film. Chicco Jerikho expressed that he tried to bring the mysterious character Ali Khan to life by watching several documentaries and adapting them into a believable figure.

Meanwhile, Lucky Kuswandi emphasized that the three young female characters in A WORLD WITHOUT are those who can stand on their own and are not defined by men, yet they can still become agents of change based on sisterhood.
