Because of This, Singer Sara Fajira Feels the Pain of Being a Victim of Harassment

Kapanlagi.com - Success as a singer, Sara Fajira ventures into the world of acting. After making her debut in a zombie-themed series titled HITAM, this time she showcases her acting skills in the film BALADA SEPASANG KEKASIH GILA.

In the film directed by Anggy Umbara, Sara Fajira is cast as the character Lastri, who has a Mental Disorder (ODGJ). She will also act alongside the arrogant basketball player Denny Sumargo.

Playing the character named Lastri, Sara does various things to embody her role. To immerse herself in the experience of being an ODGJ, the 25-year-old woman does research by watching films, videos on YouTube, and also reading articles.

"For this role as Lastri, I increase my references whether it's from movies, YouTube, I also read articles about the language of people with mental disorders. Fortunately, in its development, I am lucky to have a good co-star and also Mas Anggy who allows us to explore however we want," said Sara in a virtual press conference last week.

1. The Pain of Being a Victim of Harassment

In a scene, Sara Fajira had to act out a scene where her character experiences sexual harassment. In that moment, she felt like she was in a nightmare because she had to put herself in that situation.

"The scene where I was harassed, gang-raped, how is it? Who wants to be harassed like that? I think that's the worst feeling ever. Even it's just act. I can now understand, oh this is how women who have been harassed might feel," explained the Surabaya-born woman.

BALADA SEPASANG KEKASIH GILA is a comedy tragedy film adapted from the novel of the same title by Han Gagas. This novel is one of seven titles that won the Kwikku Script Hunt competition.

This film tells the story of the meeting of two people with mental disorders named Jarot (Denny Sumargo) and Lastri. They are considered insane by the people around them, causing them to question why those who claim to be sane are often the ones behaving crazily.
