Indeed, after the film Vina: Sebelum 7 Hari was released, the police announced 3 wanted persons in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl named Vina in Cirebon.
In response to this, Anggy Umbara expressed surprise that the film Vina: Sebelum 7 Hari was reported to the police. He is even more puzzled considering that his work has already passed the censorship.
"It's like a dream, waking up. Since when has a movie been considered a violation of the law after being watched by millions of people and causing a commotion. Because this film has passed the censorship and is based on a true story," said Anggy Umbara when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, Friday (31/5).
Anggy also believes that the current situation is not a commotion. According to him, this is a response from the public regarding the deaths of Vina and Eky.
"If it is considered a commotion, whose commotion is it? For me, this is not a commotion, in my opinion, this is a response from the public and netizens who are following this case, especially towards Vina and Eky's family," he said.
For the issue of differences of opinion that arise regarding Vina's death case, it is normal, as a form of freedom of expression. Therefore, it is not surprising that those who have different assumptions are considered to be causing a commotion.
In addition, Anggy admitted that he is ready if the police ask for his statement.
"It's okay to have different opinions, differences should exist. Why should they all be silenced, and why should their voices be held back and considered disruptive? That's what's strange and weird. They are free to give assumptions," he explained.
"If I am called later, of course I will come. I have no hidden agenda and my intentions are good, why be afraid. I have the right to create and convey opinions, so why be afraid to go through the legal process," he concluded.
