From Shenina Cinnamon to Kiara McKenna Becomes the Muse of Collaboration between Barli Asmara and 'ENCANTO' Film

Kapanlagi.com - The latest Disney animation titled ENCANTO is ready to be shown in cinemas throughout Indonesia. Prior to its release, Barli Asmara revealed a quite surprising fashion collaboration.

Usually presenting a collection in one color, for this collaboration Barli Asmara presents five dresses in sweet pastel colors. These dresses are inspired by the five characters in the film.

"We created five dresses inspired by the five characters of ENCANTO. The dress elements align with the design aesthetic that we have summarized, which includes the use of lace, floral and borderly, and ruffles," said Leslie Tobing, the creative director of Barli Asmara, in a press conference at Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (23/11/2021).

"We used various colors here. Normally, when we create a collection, we use the same color for all. This is the first time we use sweet and colorful colors. Hopefully, this collection will inspire our colorful creations in the future," Leslie continued.

To showcase the fashion collaboration between Barli Asmara and ENCANTO, five famous Indonesian muses were chosen. There are Shenina Cinnamon, Beby Tsabina, Ayushita, Yasmin Napper, and newcomer Kiara McKenna.

The selection of these names is because they represent five characters in the real world. "Each character very much represents them in this movie," Leslie said.

ENCANTO tells the story of a Madrigal family who lives hidden in the mountains of Colombia. They live in a magical house in the amazing town of Encanto.

The magical powers in Encanto run through every child in this family. They have superpowers and healing abilities. Only one child lives without powers: Mirabel. Despite not having powers, Mirabel decides to step up when Encanto is in danger.
