"We filmed in an apartment building. We searched for it for almost four months, going around Jakarta to Bandung," said Joko when met at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta.
"Because if we want to shoot, we make the location not just a shooting location, but also a character," said the director who always succeeds with various films.
What's interesting is that this apartment building was found with the help of follower Joko. From a distance, the apartment building stands strong with several cars parked in its yard.
Joko himself initially kept the location of the apartment building a secret. According to him, the apartment building has been empty for the past 15 years. It's no wonder that the atmosphere is quite tense.
"The location of the apartment building is in Jakarta, we will cover it up until the film is released. The apartment building has been empty for 15 years, before shooting, I asked if it was possible for us to use it, and it turned out to be very possible," explained Joko.
Although it has been empty for 15 years, the apartment building still has a prohibition. Yes, anyone is prohibited from going up to the seventh floor.
"There are some places that the caretaker says should not be entered on the seventh floor. Because it's forbidden, so we don't go in. There have been people who entered and something we didn't want to happen occurred. But we don't need to tell it to avoid sensationalism," said Joko Anwar.
