Kevin Abani, a Graduate of a Well-Known Campus, Grabs Attention with His Role in Pertaruhan Series and Waktu Maghrib Film

Kapanlagi.com - Speaking of the domestic film industry, it never ceases to produce talented young filmmakers and actors. One of them is Kevin Abani who successfully caught attention with his acting in the Pertaruhan series and the Waktu Maghrib feature film.

Although his figure is not yet widely known by the public, Kevin was able to attract the attention of director Sidharta Tata when he acted in the Pertaruhan series. When met in the Tanah Abang area, Central Jakarta recently, Kevin said that thanks to his action in the series starring Jefri Nichol, he was involved in the Waktu Maghrib feature film.

He also revealed that the director might have remembered him, so he had already been planned to play the character of Samiun in the Waktu Maghrib film.

"Before joining Waktu Maghrib, I had met the director, Mr. Sidharta Tata, I was in his project, the Pertaruhan series, and thankfully when I played in Pertaruhan, he remembered something and it turned out to be a memorable thing for him," said Kevin Abani.

"We have a story that Mr. Tata read the character of Samiun in Waktu Maghrib, he remembered me as Kevin Abani, so he remembered me in one scene in Pertaruhan," he continued.

1. His Role Captivates the Director

When asked further about the character he played in the successful Pertaruhan series that impressed the director, Kevin began to tell his story again. He said that he was one of the strong candidates to play the character Samiun in the film Waktu Maghrib.

"My character's name is Cacing, a mischievous character who is arguably the most prominent in his gang, so because of one scene, he remembered me. There was a moment at the end of the relationship with the casting director, and I was immediately asked to play this character Samiun, and indeed I was one of the strongest candidates to play this character," he said.

In addition, Kevin Abani himself is from Medan, North Sumatra, and is one of the best art college graduates in Indonesia, majoring in Theater with a focus on Acting at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Yogyakarta. However, when asked about his plans for a career in the Indonesian film industry, Kevin admitted that he did not want to expect more and let his career flow and develop over time.

"I studied in Jogja, at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Yogyakarta, majoring in Theater, with a focus on Acting, I'm from Medan, North Sumatra, but not Batak, I'm Acehnese Malay," he explained.

"I don't expect more, for now, I just go with the flow and see how it goes in the future," he concluded.
