Kapanlagi.com - Director Girry Pratama is once again trusted to work on a new horror genre film titled Legend Of Calon Arang. The film produced by Lingkar Film and Kunci Rumah Film raises the folklore story of the Javanese and Balinese communities.
Surely in every film made by Girry, there are challenges of their own, such as the film Legend Of Calon Arang which also has its own challenges for the director.
One of the challenges for Girry is how the story in this film can present a story that is accepted by millennials. Girry Pratama also added that later the Legend Of Calon Arang film will have two sequels because this story has a long enough history.
"Actually, there are two sequels for the Legend of Calon Arang, it's long and has a lot of history. But we make a version for young people first, if many people like it, then we will provide the history of the story before the current film," said Girry Pratama when met in the Kemang area, South Jakarta recently.

In the process, after going through many discussions, research, and observations, Girry learned a lot about the story of Calon Arang. Eventually, he came to a conclusion and obtained his version of the Calon Arang story.
"Many say that Calon Arang is good, while others say she is bad. The version we use is that Calon Arang is good, but we make the drama and horror in front," he said.
In addition, because he did not want to make a mistake, Girry involved many historians as consultants. This is to maintain the accuracy of the story in the film he made.
"We involve historians, we ask the indigenous people in Bali. We have to be detailed about the names, and then how the figures are so that we don't make mistakes. We have to be careful," he explained.
"The research was done in August last year, then we made the scenario. Because it was too heavy, we made the ordinary one first before making the sequel," he concluded.
