The latest film starring Nicholas Saputra and Putri Marino titled THE ARCHITECTURE OF LOVE or abbreviated as T.A.O.L. has been showing in cinemas since April 30, 2024 simultaneously in Indonesian cinemas. Adapted from the novel of the same name by Ika Natassa. It tells the story of a love encounter that has surpassed the dark period of marriage trauma between a popular writer and a renowned architect in New York City.

On Wednesday (1/5), the cast of the film THE ARCHITECTURE OF LOVE visited the city of Malang for a Cinema Visit. The main actors, Nicholas Saputra (River Yusuf) and Putri Marino (Raia Risjad), created excitement among the residents of Malang during their visit to Cinepolis Malang Town Square.

In the movie T.A.O.L., many buildings in New York are featured. Starting from unique ones that can communicate through their walls or buildings that are very beautiful when in the city.

Putri Marino and Nicholas Saputra have their own favorite locations when shooting there. Nicholas admitted that Flatiron Building is his favorite spot. “The location I like the most in this movie is at Flatiron,” he said in response to a question from the audience at Cinema Visit in Malang. “Because the building is beautiful and close to a coffee shop,” he added.

Unlike Putri Marino, who likes the location spot in Central Park. “For me, maybe in Central Park,” said Putri Marino. “In the past, I only saw Central Park in Hollywood movies, and then I came there yesterday,” she added, imagining the beauty of Central Park. Putri Marino also admitted that Central Park is perfect for having coffee and daydreaming while enjoying the beauty of the spacious and beautiful parks.

"Finding chemistry has no formula at all, we don't have an agreement on how to find chemistry. Moments that make you happy and then sad are present in this film. So, what do Putri Marino and Nicholas Saputra think about their favorite scenes during filming?

Putri Marino has a favorite scene when Raia and River are happy. "If I have to choose a favorite scene, I think all of them are. But if I have to pick one when I watch it, I really love the scene where Raia and River feed each other popcorn," said Putri Marino shyly answering the audience's question.

"The challenging one might be the scene in Montauk, at the lighthouse. It was very cold. But it's also one of my favorite scenes," explained Nicholas Saputra when describing the most challenging scene for him during filming.

4. Putri Marino has been engaged to Raia Risjad since 2020

Putri Marino admits that she has been offered to play Raia Risjad since 2020. Raia Risjad herself is a character of an independent woman who is very difficult to fall in love with someone new.

"I am definitely happy because the film is finally released. The first time I was offered to play Raia was in 2020 and it was delayed because of COVID. I feel happy because I also read the book, and I'm excited to portray a character that I really like from the book," explained Putri Marino.

5. Nicholas Saputra's opinion about the character River Yusuf

The main character in the film THE ARCHITECTURE OF LOVE has a trauma from their marriage. Tragic events in their past have made Raia Risjad and River Yusuf reluctant to start a new story. However, River Yusuf, played by Nicholas Saputra, has a heavy trauma and depression when recalling the dark times with his wife.

Nicholas Saputra also explained that from the character of River, we can take a moral message, which is to remain empathetic towards others. "River is a character who has experienced a very heavy trauma. In our daily lives, we sometimes misunderstand someone's behavior. We don't know what they have been through and what emotional state they are in. Maybe in this film, we can provide an example that sometimes when we misunderstand or don't understand someone, they actually need someone to talk to," Nicholas Saputra expressed about the character he played.
