Not Just a Film, Baim Wong Raises Personal Stories in EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE

Actor and director, Baim Wong, returns with his latest work that feels very personal this time. In the film titled EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE, the former husband of Paula Verhoeven raises fragments of his life story, including the difficult moments he has experienced.

This was revealed during a press conference held in the Bintaro area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (03/17/2026). Baim admitted that many scenes in this film were inspired by his experiences with close people, especially his parents.

Although the story is very personal, the 44-year-old man emphasizes that his work is not a biographical film. He prefers to portray the reality of life's struggles that he believes can be felt by many people.

"This is a family story, a story that I say I have experienced all by myself," said Baim Wong at the press conference for his latest film.

One of the most difficult moments he poured into the story was when he was at his lowest point financially, even to the point of almost selling his valuable assets just to survive.

"I also once wanted to sell my car because I couldn't pay the rent, and I felt alone," he explained.

That bitter experience became one of the emotional foundations of this film. Baim wants the audience, especially from the lower middle class, to feel a connection with the story presented.

"This is a story of daily life that I see from the lower middle class, which I want to relate to," he added.

Because of the depth of the story, Baim does not want to take chances in choosing his actors. He ensures that every actor involved is truly the best choice to bring the characters to life.

"We really choose our actors carefully. Not just stars, but we really select them," he stated. By collaborating with big names like Reza Rahadian and Christine Hakim, Baim hopes that the message and emotions from his personal story can be strongly conveyed to the audience.
