The success of DILAN 1990 prompted Max Pictures to move quickly to create a sequel to the film. Fajar Bustomi has once again been appointed to direct two sequels at once, namely DILAN 1991 and MILEA. Fajar mentioned that the shooting of 'DILAN 1991' and 'MILEA' will be done back to back or simultaneously. The reason is to avoid physical changes in Iqbaal after returning from abroad.
