Reza Rahadian Plays a Supporting Role in the Film 'SEPERTI DENDAM, RINDU HARUS DIBAYAR TUNTAS', Director Edwin: No Discrimination

Kapanlagi.com - After touring the world festival, the film SEPERTI DENDAM, RINDU HARUS DIBAYAR TUNTAS is finally ready to be screened in Indonesian cinemas in early December. Through this adaptation of the novel, actor Reza Rahadian is cast as a supporting character named Budi Baik.
 
In several film titles, Reza is often chosen as the main character. Now, when asked to play a supporting role, he doesn't mind at all.
 
"Being a supporting cast is not the first time and I never worry about taking any role, I don't have that insecurity. As long as I like the role, I respect the opportunity that exists, I appreciate the character," said Reza wisely when met at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (17/11/2021).

1. No Discrimination for Actors

The film SEPERTI DENDAM, RINDU HARUS DIBAYAR TUNTAS is filled with supporting actors who are not playing around. In addition to Reza Rahadian, there are Christine Hakim, Djenar Maesa Ayu, Kiki Narendra, Ayu Laksmi, and Ratu Felisha.
 
According to Edwin, the director, he does not see who the main actors are and who the supporting actors are. Because when production is underway, both positions must support each other's work in front of the camera.
 
"I never differentiate between main roles or supporting roles. I believe every actor should have balance. If they succeed as the main actor, it's because they are supported by other actors to be more focused," Edwin emphasized in the same location during a different interview session.
 
"Supporting actors also have equally important roles. There is no discrimination. Even if the role is small, you can't just use any actor. For me, one scene is equally important as ten scenes played by other actors," Edwin said.
