Reza Rahadian Ready to be Hated by the Public for His Role as a Cheating Man in the Series 'LAYANGAN PUTUS'

Kapanlagi.com - Reza Rahadian is involved in a series titled LAYANGAN PUTUS, an adaptation of a true story of an affair case that went viral some time ago. Reza is cast as the main character named Aris, a man who cheats on his wife.

Being accustomed to playing good-natured men doesn't make Reza hesitate to take on unusual offers. He doesn't even mind if he ends up being disliked by the public because of this factor.

"If asked if I'm ready to be hated or not, I have to be ready as long as the role requires it. If the audience ends up getting annoyed or hating me a lot, that's already part of the responsibility and risk of taking on this role," said Reza in a press conference at MD Place, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Thursday (18/11/2021).

Although prepared to be hated, Reza Rahadian believes that the public will only hate the character Aris that he portrays. Not his personal self as an actor.

"It seems that the public is smart enough to understand that disliking the characters doesn't mean disliking the person. I only do it for the sake of the role, in accordance with the demands of the character. That is my responsibility as an actor to portray it as best as possible," added Reza.

During the shooting process under the direction of director Benni Setiawan, Reza admitted that the character he played made the crew annoyed. It didn't stop there, most of the female co-stars were also annoyed. "Even all the female crew members hated me, the casts too," he concluded.
