Starting from an Instagram Conversation, Reza Rahadian - Ika Natassa Create a Mini Series 'SEMENTARA SELAMANYA'

Kapanlagi.com - Rare collaboration between Reza Rahadian and renowned writer Ika Natassa. Previously, Reza played in the film adaptation of Ika's novel, but now the actor is directing and acting in a mini-series with a script written directly by Ika.

The idea for this mini-series titled SEMENTARA, SELAMANYA came up in a unique way. It happened when Reza and Ika had a live conversation on Instagram. Who would have thought that Reza's challenge would be taken seriously by the writer from Medan.

1. Chatting on Live Instagram

"I and Reza had a live chat on Instagram. I said, 'If you have nothing to do, try shooting at home'. Then Reza challenged me to write a script suitable for shooting at home. We had the conversation on the weekend, and on Monday night, I got the idea for the story. I wrote the script for a week, and as soon as it was done, I gave it to Reza," said Ika in a virtual interview session last week.

2. Has Long Wanted to Become a Producer

After reading the script, Reza Rahadian immediately fell in love with it. He then invited his manager, Arya Ibrahim, to join as a producer.

"Actually, I've wanted to be a producer for a long time. When this story idea came up, I immediately fell in love and said it had to be made because it's perfect for the current pandemic situation. The next step is how to find sponsors quickly and work with a minimal team," said Arya at the same occasion.

3. Big Project

In addition to being an actor, Reza Rahadian is also involved in directing the mini-series SEMENTARA, SELAMANYA, which will be aired in six episodes on the Vidio platform. He never expected that a casual conversation on Instagram could turn into a serious project.

"Initially, it was just for fun, not serious. Originally, I wanted to release it on IGTV or YouTube, not like now where it has developed because of the positive response from various parties," said Reza.

4. Separated Because of Virus

TEMPORARILY, FOREVER highlights the story of Saka, who has to live apart from his wife named Zara because he is tasked with handling patients during the pandemic. Through a series of video calls, a big secret is revealed, threatening their household's integrity.
