Kapanlagi.com - MD Pictures will release their latest work titled CATATAN SI BOY. Interestingly, this romantic drama featuring Angga Yunanda as the lead actor will be released on August 17th.
The decision to release a film on Indonesia's Independence Day was intentional. Fortunately, this was supported by the cinema industry.
"Yesterday we were confused about when to release it, and finally chose August 17th because it's a holiday. I see that the cinemas know which products are big, especially since they know that MD films will have value and box office potential. We may not know how it will turn out, but we know that it was handled with the right production value," said Manoj, who was met at MD Place, Setiabudi area, South Jakarta, on Monday (12/6/2023).
CATATAN SI BOY is a reboot of the popular film of the same name that was first released in the 1980s. Like the original film, Boy will show the lifestyle of rich kids.
Director Hanung Bramantyo said that he had difficulty presenting visuals that were wow. Unfortunately, this time he couldn't compromise for authenticity.
"The most complicated part of this film is presenting wow visuals. We know that the Boy film always presents something glamorous, and I don't like anything that's glamorous. So, when we entered the most expensive place, we just took it. If it were in another film, I wouldn't want it to be like this artistically," said Hanung on the same occasion.
Because of directing CATATAN SI BOY, Hanung Bramantyo came to know the true rich people. That the old money class actually does not like to show off their wealth. They are actually humble.
"Here, I learned again. The house of a rich person is not like Instagram, rich people don't show off. I delved into that. And for me, what is called a glamorous film or soap opera is actually not glamorous. I just found out that rich people are like this. Don't expect rich people to wear suits, they are rich in vibes and style. Not by wearing expensive things," he said.
