The Series 'A Little White Lie' Presents a Reunion Full of Lies and Plot Twists

The entertainment world in the homeland is once again enlivened by the presence of a new series titled A Little White Lie. This series, produced by Unlimited Production, is an adaptation of a popular novel. Producer Oswin Bonifanz revealed that this story has a strong intellectual property (IP) value and has been around for a long time, yet remains relevant to contemporary life.

The main premise of this story highlights the psychological side of humans who often hide the truth for the sake of goodness. This is considered very close to the reality of daily life, where every individual certainly has secrets that are kept tightly.

"So Little White Lie is actually one IP from a book that has been around for quite some time. If I’m not mistaken, the book is from 2000. It tells the story that actually everyone, each of us, must have a little white lie or lie for good," he said when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (10/2/2026).

Oswin added that small lies are a human trait and occur across generations. In this series, each character is built with complex emotional depth, where they all have their own secrets that drive the story. "It seems undeniable that each of us has had them from the past until now. In this series, every character also has their own little lies," explained Oswin.

Although adapted from a book, there are significant differences in the story's timeline. While the novel version focuses on high school, this series takes place many years later to cater to a young adult audience.

"But the difference is that in the book, the story is about high school. Now, since it’s already 2026, the story takes place when they were in high school and happens 12 years later. So, it’s about them meeting again at a reunion," he added.

"What attracted me was that before I read the synopsis from here, I had watched the works of this writer. When I watched the writer's work, it was really impressive. And it turns out that in this series there are also layered plot twists," Sondang revealed.

Viewers will be invited to guess the relationships between the characters that are full of mystery. Sondang assured that this element of surprise will make the audience feel intrigued and curious in every episode. A Little White Lie tells the story of Ocha (Calista Arum), a smart girl who is down on her luck after being laid off. She must attend her elementary school reunion at the hotel owned by her senior, Adit (Jerome Kurnia). There, she reunites with Bintang (Junior Roberts), someone she admires. The reunion, which was supposed to be nostalgic, turns chaotic due to a viral scandal, forcing them to engage in a rebranding strategy that uncovers past secrets, including about a mysterious letter writer who changed Ocha's life.
