Angga Yunanda, who plays the main character as Kemal Solihin in the Indonesian version of MY ANNOYING BROTHER, experienced a sprained ankle while filming a judo match scene in preparation for his role. This talented young actor was undergoing intensive training to portray a judo athlete, which led to him spraining his ankle.

However, Angga Yunanda revealed that the production team was very supportive, which helped speed up his recovery process.

"The sprain was actually brief during the filming process, but with the help of my friends, the recovery was quick. After that, I could continue filming again," said Angga Yunanda, who plays the character Kemal Solihin.

2. Caitlin Halderman Had Quite a Hard Time Portraying the Character Amanda

Caitlin Halderman admitted that she faced quite a bit of difficulty in portraying the character Amanda in the Indonesian version of MY ANNOYING BROTHER. The character Amanda is depicted as a judo athlete and also an official team member for Kemal Solihin in the international judo competition, as well as a character who has a special relationship with Kemal Solihin.

Caitlin herself confessed that she found it quite challenging because she had no background in judo at all and it was quite difficult to convey a subtle sense of love while portraying the character Amanda.

"I have no judo background, so I had to practice. Believe me, giving a subtle sense of love is harder than learning judo," said Caitlin Halderman, who plays Amanda.

"But after discussing with the director and talking about how we wanted it to be, during the scenes I really held back a lot because it was indeed very difficult. But, overall, because of the discussions and conversations, and because I shared the same vision and mission as the director, so all's good," she added.

3. Reasons to Keep Choosing Judo as the Main Sport in the Film

Although MY ANNOYING BROTHER Indonesian version underwent several adjustments to be closer to local culture, the production team decided to maintain judo as the main sport in the film. This decision was made because judo is considered the most relatable sport for this film, as Indonesian judo athletes have performed exceptionally well at the recent 2024 Paralympics.

"It's actually because judo is the most relatable. Because Indonesian judo is one of the best in the world. In fact, Angga has trained with those judo athletes, and all three of them won gold at the recent Paralympics," said Vino G. Bastian, who plays the character Jaya Solihin.

"So why change it? For this film, judo is the most relatable," he added.

4. Vino G. Bastian Loses Weight for His Role

Vino G. Bastian revealed that he had to lose weight to prepare for his role in the Indonesian version of the film MY ANNOYING BROTHER. As an actor known for his dedication to acting, Vino is committed to delivering an authentic performance in line with the character he portrays.

He also explained that the character he plays suffers from pancreatic cancer, which requires him to appear thin on camera.

"When we first had the workshop, we researched what pancreatic cancer was like. So, there was one video that really depicted him as being thin. And for the camera, that helps Jaya's character. Although the time was tight, we also relied on lighting and makeup. It's not like I lost a lot of weight, but there was an effort to manage it," explained Vino G. Bastian, who plays the character Jaya Solihin.

"The easiest thing is not to eat carbohydrates. But, I love bread, so it's hard," he continued.
