Through the Film Kadet 1947, Bisma Karisma Wants to Realize His Father's Dreams

Kapanlagi.com - In the midst of his busy schedule preparing for his single and mini album, Bisma Karisma has just finished shooting a film titled Kadet 1947. This film is a historical film or the struggle of the cadets to defend Indonesian independence.

In this film directed by Rahabi Mandra and Aldo Swastia, the singer of the song Yang Suri played the role of Surardjo Sigit. In a conversation with Kapanlagi over the phone, Bisma apparently has sentimental reasons why he was interested in being involved in the film Kadet 1947.

1. Bisma's Father, a Military Man

Not many people know that Bisma's father used to work in the Air Force. As a military man, Bisma's father wanted his son to follow in his footsteps. However, at that time, Bisma chose a different path to become an artist.

"This was my father's dream. He was in the Air Force. When I asked if he knew Sutardjo Sigit, my father said he did. Hopefully, when the film is screened, my father can watch it, my father can feel his dream so that I can join the Air Force. In my second year of high school, I was offered to become a Cadet, but I declined," Bisma said.

"At that time, I asked for permission to make my parents happy in a different way, and I was allowed. Finally, through this film, Kadet 1947, I can fulfill my father's dream of seeing his child as an Air Force officer," Bisma continued.

2. Reasons for Accepting the Film Offer

However, besides the sentimental reason, Bisma mentioned several other reasons why he accepted this film offer.

"The concept is interesting, the production is done seriously, it's my first epic film, a historical adaptation film that personally motivates me to have a higher nationalist spirit," he said.

Portraying the character of Sutardjo Sigit, Bisma had to observe and delve into the character. Fortunately, he also received guidance from members of the Air Force. From their discussions, Bisma was able to absorb how to portray the character of an Air Force cadet at that time.

"I tried to see Sigit from various angles, what he was like as a cadet, as a leader, as a friend, as a lover. From there, I could empathize and understand his motivations for doing this and that. I also had many discussions with the Air Force members who were my companions and references for this film, to learn how the cadets were back then, how to walk, how to behave, how to fly a plane," he said.

3. Historical Drama Film

KADET 1947 is a historical drama film inspired by the first Indonesian air attack on the Dutch army, which occupied areas in Indonesia during the Dutch Military Aggression I in 1947. This action was carried out by cadets (prospective Air Force TNI students) who had the spirit to defend the independence of the Republic of Indonesia at that time. Produced by Temata Studios and supported by Screenplay Films and Legacy Pictures, it is scheduled to be released in 2021.

In addition to Bisma Karisma, several other big actors are also involved. They are Kevin Julio, Martino Lio, Aryo Bayu, Wafda Saifan, Mike Lucock, Ibnu Jamil, and many more.
