FAST 9: Vin Diesel's Impression as an Action Actor in His 50s and the Title 'Car Destroyer'

Kapanlagi.com - The film FAST 9 is not just a continuation of the FAST SAGA, but also a personal film for Vin Diesel. He has been starring in this film for twenty years since THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS in 2001. His long career journey as Dom is accompanied by many unique stories, including when shooting FAST 9.

Despite using a stunt double, 53-year-old Vin Diesel has to appear convincing when jumping from buildings, driving cars in chase scenes, and engaging in fights with villains. It is no secret that the FAST SAGA is always synonymous with spectacular action like superhero films.

Vin Diesel never considers his actions in films to be excessive. For him, he does it all according to the director's instructions.

"When you get older, you start questioning your sanity. When you think back on all the action scenes you've done and never questioned them." My whole process of understanding Dom is by, when the director says I have to jump from the top of the building, I will jump from the top of the building. Because I deeply understand his character," he explained in an interview with KapanLagi some time ago.

1. Thank You Vin Diesel

He also didn't miss the opportunity to thank the stunt team and every crew member who supported him. Vin believes that the spectacular scenes in the film are inseparable from solid collective work.  

"Thank you God. Let me take this moment to say it. Thank you God for giving me a great stunt team. The action scene team. They are very mature in preparing it weekly and even monthly before shooting to present scenes that you may only see for a few seconds in the film," he said.  

2. The Car Destroyer Title

Playing as the main character in the FAST SAGA, Vin Diesel was bestowed with a unique title. He was chosen as The Most Dangerous On-Screen Driver. He has already destroyed 61 vehicles throughout the FAST & FURIOUS franchise. 

"The funny thing is... every time there is a new Fast and Furious movie and every press junket, there is always someone asking how many cars I've destroyed. But after 9 films, I almost don't want to hear how many cars were destroyed for the action scenes here, because there are just so many that you can't count anymore. So I guess I have to accept that title with great honor, and also apologize to the car universe for all the cars that sacrificed their lives for your entertainment," he explained. 

He will be driving a Dodge Charger and Dodge Charger SRT in this film. Will he destroy them too?

3. The Most Memorable of Dom Toretto's Role

Apart from the action and cool cars, Vin Diesel reflects that this character is closely intertwined with himself. 

"If you asked me about this 20 years ago, "That in 2021, Dom would become a father." In chapter 9. I would have thought it was crazy and unexpected. As you know, this franchise didn't come from previously written comics or novels. It's truly an original work," he passionately tells. 

Vin is very proud to see the journey of the FAST SAGA and the full support from Universal Studios.

"Thank you for supporting and following the evolution of these characters that are well-known to audiences worldwide," he concludes.
