Liu Yifei Presents Captivating Fighting Skills in Live Action 'MULAN'

The story of Mulan is based on the true story of Hua Mulan, a warrior from Chinese history. She disguises herself as a man so that her father doesn't have to join the military.

Mulan serves in the military for 12 years and achieves a high position. However, she rejects all the awards given to her and chooses to retire in her hometown.

If the 1998 animated version was made full of music and comedy, the live-action version emphasizes more on the action side. Liu Yifei is seen showing her fighting skills such as sword fighting and archery.

Although set in China, the filming location of this film is also held in New Zealand. The filming process started in 2018, coinciding with the announcement of the main cast of Mulan.

This adaptation film is directed by Niki Caro who previously worked on THE ZOO KEEPER'S WIFE.

In the beginning of the trailer, it is still told about Mulan's matchmaking efforts. As the eldest daughter, she tries to accept the plan.

In addition to Liu Yifei, this film will also be enlivened by other top actors. Jet Li will portray the Chinese emperor, Gong Li will play the witch, and Donnie Yen will become Mulan's mentor, Commander Tung.
