From the story's perspective, THE BOY AND THE HERON tells the story of a young man named Mahito who has to experience the tragic fate of losing his mother due to war. In the process of healing his grief, Mahito meets a heron who calls him 'The Awaited One'. Surrounded by mystery, Mahito embarks on a fantasy world adventure to find answers.
